4th July Meeting at Winchester with Jo Fields – Managing the side effects of hormone therapy after cancer

On 4th July, we were joined by Jo Fields who is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) at Winchester Hospital. We’re really grateful to Jo for giving up her time to talk to us and for sharing her knowledge to try and answer some of our concerns.

Jo talked about the important role of an ANP, working alongside the Surgeons, Oncologists and Clinical Nurse Specialists, and also about managing the side effects of Hormone Therapy after having certain types of cancer.

There are different types of Hormone Therapy prescribed to us, whether we are pre or post menopause and depending on the type of cancer we have/had, and we will each react differently to these types of Hormone Therapy, and indeed even to a change of Brand of a particular Hormone Therapy.

Some brief notes were taken on the night and these can be found here

Please remember that we always recommend you seek the advice of your own GP, CNS or Oncologist if you have concerns.
